A Video to Tide You Over

So I have been informed that it is still going to be a few days before Maggie gets out. Maryanne said that they still need to do some tests and have some specialists look at her. So until she gets out and everyone has a chance to meet her I will provide you with a video of the first time we got to hold her.You can view it in high def if you click through to YouTube. Again thanks to Valerie for putting this together and posting up for us. You are the best.

What an amazing baby girl and her amazing Mommy. I have been praying for all of you. My name is Jenny Carpenter. I have heard your story and been following Maggies progress. Every day I check to see how she is doing. What a miracle you have. She is amazing and so are you. I know of you from Hearts and church. I am also a friend of Jens and Shannons.
I know what it is like to have a baby in the NICU. The scariest time of my life was when my second baby was born and then in the NICU. He was a preemie born 2 months early. I dont know if your NICU has a support group or classes for parents. That helped me.
I loved seeing the pics of Maggie in your arms. Right where she should be. I will never forget how it felt to finally hold my baby. I know in the NICU with all the nurses and Doctors around it can seem like there is nothing you can do. But the parents are the most important people for a baby. The feel of your skin and heartbeat are what she needs the most. We called it Kangaroo Care, I dont know if it is still called that. Also I told Jen, all of your expenses are tax deductible. Your gas, your food, your lodging, just save your reciepts or if on debit card print your statements. Also I dont know how much time you can be in the NICU, we were only able to be with Caleb every 3 hours and it was hard to find things to do in the time to kill when we wanted to be there. I wanted to let you know on the 5th floor of Dornbecher during the mornings they have activities for moms to do. You can take the supplies with you and work anywhere with them. When Caleb had surgery this last November they had beading. MY NICU baby will be 8 next week he spent a month in the NICU. I am Caleb Carpenters mom. He used to come to Hearts in a little yellow walker and he has red hair as well as your family. Now he is walking and running everywhere. I was in Moms of Hope with Shannon as well.
Jenny Carpenter faithfully praying for your Miracle.

  2. She is beautiful. What sweet pictures & video that you will treasure always. Mostly, I am so amazed to see God's grace in your life during a time that I can't even imagine experiencing myself. I, along with others I know, are praying for little Maggie--for a full, complete recovery.
